There's a good chance that someone in your family will need to have their teeth adjusted at some point in their lifetime. This is especially true at the younger ages, as adjustments made at that time can save your child from a lot of potential dental issues down the road.
Traditional metal braces typically bring up a lot of pain and embarrassment. It used to be that in order to achieve straight teeth, children and adults had to suffer through years of metal braces. But modern technology offers a solution to the embarrassment and pain of traditional braces. The Invisalign system is the solution and most modern process today.
The Invisalign system takes a modern approach by using a custom-made series of aligners created for each individual patient. These aligners are made of a smooth, comfortable, BPA-free plastic that won't irritate your cheeks and gums like traditional metal braces often do.
This revolutionary process allows you to achieve a great smile without unattractive and uncomfortable metal brackets and wires. Wearing the aligners will gradually and gently shift your teeth into place. There are no metal brackets to attach and no wires to tighten.
You just put in a new set of aligners approximately every two weeks, until your treatment is complete. You’ll achieve a great smile with little interference in your daily life. The best part about the whole process is that most people won't even know you're straightening your teeth. As you can see in the photos below, the Invisalign system is barely noticeable!

Dr. Nuhfer recommends contacting North East Dental Arts to schedule a personalized consultation. She will discuss the Invisalign system in detail and determine if you’re a good candidate for Invisalign. This will also be your opportunity to ask any questions about Invisalign, costs, insurance coverages and any other concerns.
Dr. Nuhfer advises that while every case is unique, Invisalign treatment typically takes approximately one year for adults. For teens, the length of treatment is comparable to that of braces, but since your teeth won't be covered by wires and brackets, you'll be able to see improvement much sooner. Most importantly, you’ll be informed and consulted throughout the entire Invisalign process to ensure you’ll love the results.
